Arsenal are negotiating a new contract with manager Mikel Arteta whose current deal expires next summer according to Fabrizio Romano.

Since taking over in 2019 the Spaniard has guided the team back into the Champions League and nearly won the Premier League last season.

Despite the 42-year-old deal at the Emirates nearing its end both parties are relaxed and there is no rush to finalise the new terms.

Arteta who is very happy with Arsenal project has shown no interest in other job offers such as those from Barcelona earlier this year.
